Vectren is helping our customers go green by investing in clean energy. These initiatives below create enough renewable energy to power 25,000 homes.
Wind power purchase
By next year, Vectren customers will be receiving nearly 80 megawatts of power from two wind farms in Benton County, Ind. Plus, we’ve just issued another request from potential vendors to add even more green energy in the near future.
Blackfoot clean energy plant
Harnessing gases emitted from decomposing trash, Vectren recently opened its first landfill-gas-to-electricity project in southwestern Indiana. This renewable energy project, which is located at Veolia’s Blackfoot landfill, will power 2,000 homes. |
