Programmable thermostats make it easy to change heating and cooling settings automatically. You can adjust the temperature settings for your furnace or air conditioner according to a preset schedule that you determine.
When set properly, you could see savings up to 10% a year on heating and cooling costs. In fact, for each degree you dial back in the winter or dial up in the summer, you can save 1 to 3% on your energy costs.
