To assist low-income Indiana homeowners with their energy bills, Vectren established Share the Warmth, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Funds are distributed to the Indiana Low Income Weatherization Assistance Program, which works with families to make homes safe, comfortable and energy efficient.

Each year, Vectren matches all public donations to the Share the Warmth program, up to a total of $200,000 annually. You may send your tax-deductible gift to:

Share the Warmth, Inc.
P. O. Box 931
Evansville, IN 47706-0931

Through the weatherization program, a trained energy auditor visits the home of the eligible customer to determine the energy improvements needed to make the home more efficient. A crew of trained specialists then performs the suggested work at no cost to the customer. Weatherization efforts ultimately reduce household energy use and lead to lower energy bills.

To find out if you’re eligible to receive the weatherization services, call the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority at
1-800-872-0371 and ask for the Community Action Agency nearest you.
