Vectren, KEB launch
tree-planting effort to benefit Glenwood revitalization

Vectren has teamed up with Keep Evansville Beautiful to plant more than 100 trees in the heart of Evansville to benefit the Glenwood Community Development Initiative and to help celebrate Arbor Day.

Residents in the area can request a tree now through March 30, 2010, by accessing the request form below. These 1-inch thick, hearty trees will be planted this spring by a team of professionals in and around selected local homes and greenways that, when fully grown, will help reduce monthly energy costs in the summer as well as improve the natural landscape and aesthetics of the neighborhood.

Help celebrate Arbor Day on April 30 by planting a tree! Don't forget to Call Before You Dig at 811 to avoid striking underground utility lines. Learn more about this initiative by contacting Keep Evansville Beautiful at (812) 425-4461 or by e-mail at or download the request form to apply.

Not all sites are appropriate for tree planting; your request for a tree may be denied. Glenwood Community Development Initiative team members, KEB staff and local arborists will help determine appropriate sites based on the applications received and community needs.
